Research Assistant:

  • Maintenance of agreement files: amounts allocated and spent in research agreements
  • Coordinating travel and educational logistics of international 50th wild and scenic river trip
  • Creating informational briefing papers for land management agencies
  • Assisting in research presentation for larger research projects
    • Conducting research and facilitating communication of broader research projects such as: wild and scenic river scientific agenda, ecological biodiversity and representation chapter, and Aldo and Leonardo art book compilation.

  • Updating with current science for land managers

  • Publication records
  • Creating accomplishments report for publications
  • Archiving publications in digital and physical form

Science presentation and Communication:

  • Summarizing scientific journal publications into “science spotlights” for Rocky Mountain Research website
  • Presenting scientific journal publications on Leopold Institute website
  • Working with director to ensure quality and accuracy

Background

Marie Snyder grew up in Bigfork, MT with access to many wilderness areas. She attended the University of Montana, graduating in 2018 with a bachelor's in psychology and a certificate in environmental ethics. She is interested in the interaction between people and their environment, especially natural environments. She worked for the Aldo Leopold Wilderness Research Institute after one year with the Rocky Mountain Research Station Forestry Sciences Lab.
